# What is the Esophagus?
Esophagus is the tube between the stomach and the pharynx, which is at the back of your throat. According to Medical Dictionary, "the esophagus is the portion of the alimentary canal between the pharynx and stomach". It is about 25-cm long and consists of three parts:
a) The cervical part, from the cricoid cartilage to the thoracic inlet.
b) The thoracic part, from the thoracic inlet to the diaphragm.
c) And the abdominal part, below the diaphragm to the cardiac opening of the stomach.

# What is ACID REFLEX?
One common cause of acid reflux disease is a stomach abnormality called a hiatal hernia. This occurs when the upper part of the stomach and LES move above the diaphragm, a muscle that separates your stomach from your chest. Normally, the diaphragm helps keep acid in our stomach. But if you have a hiatal hernia, acid can move up into your esophagus and cause symptoms of acid reflux disease.

what is Acid Reflux Remedies ????

ACID REFLUX REMEDIES
When food is eaten, it passes from the throat to the stomach through the esophagus that is food pipe or swallowing tube. Once food is in the stomach, a ring of muscle fibers prevents food from moving backward into the esophagus. These muscle fibers are called the lower esophageal sphincter, or LES.
If this sphincter muscle doesn't close well, food, liquid, and stomach acid can leak back out into the esophagus. This is called reflux. This reflux may cause symptoms, or can even damage the esophagus.
